Retrofit wind out awning installation to Grand 600

Thanks for sharing this and sorry to hear about your bad luck. Did you fit those brackets from the outside only? I.e. no need to remove any trim / cabinets from the interior..
This would suggest there is indeed some reinforcement / ply lining on the internal side as standard if so.

Hope you’re able to get it sorted
Hi Andyo, I’m in Chester too but I have a 680. I can highly recommend VW van centre in Liverpool. The guys there are very knowledgeable and I’m sure they can answer your questions. They recently fixed my leaking roof which was paid for by VW and did an excellent job.

I just got mine fitted. To mount the awning i use Dometic Perfect Wall adapters (9103103875) with additional 3D printed adapters to cover the shape of the roof.
But i was so unlucky. First time i try to use the awning the wind destroyed it.

Can I ask where you had this installation done? And did the company repair this for you? Looks like the rear bracket has peeled away and possibly damaged the fibreglass roof. This is my main concern with bolt and bond but I’m going to get the job done soon

The ply is only in the areas specified to take the brackets. I used the brackets, screws and the exact locations specified by VW. Rose awnings already had that info from VW direct and the screen shots I shared confirmed them.
No issues and we’ve weathered a fair few storms with no issues.
