Hi there

New Beach owner after some help with a quite specific question. Just bought a lovely 2018 Beach on £41k miles a fortnight ago and dead happy with it.

When buying we were aware DSG gear box oil is due and needs replacing but we also think front could suspension spring needs replacing.

Question is...

We have quite a few VW specialists here where I live and my plan was to get repairs and DSG oil done by them but maintain the servicing (flexible plan -not due next year) with VW. Does that seem sensible? Are there any flaws in my plan?

Would be good to get some advice as just learning the ropes here

Cheers

Graeme

Personally I would have my service and repairs done at the same garage, as you will be aware if you go to a good specialist garage, they will have access to vw service records and be more clued up about your pride and joy.
In my case the specialist that I use was a master tech at Vw and left because of the pressure to replace parts that had not reached end of life.
He works on my Cali and I trust him it's not a lottery like at a dealership having different people working on your van every time it goes in and you should also benefit from a far lower service cost.
Some people do like to see a main dealer service history but a comprehensive printout of the work that is carried out at regular service intervals is far more important to me.
