Hi everyone, I'm new here and was wondering if someone could help me. Is it possible to get the radio code for my VW RCD 310?

Serial number: VWZ1Z7G7938102

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!

Retrieving your VW RNS 310 radio code requires the 14-character serial number (starting with VWZ) found on the label on the side or rear of the unit. You can then get your code from a local VW dealership, an official service, or a specialized online generator. [1, 2, 3, 4]

1. How to Find Your Serial Number
You will likely need to remove the radio unit to find the 14-digit serial number: [1]
  • Use radio release keys to slide the RNS 310 out of the dashboard. You do not need to disconnect all the wires.
  • Locate the manufacturer sticker on the casing. The serial number will look similar to this example: VWZ1Z2H1234567. [1]

2. Getting Your Code
Once you have your serial number, you can unlock your unit using these reliable methods: [1, 2]
  • Official Dealership: Contact your local Volkswagen Retailer. They can often provide the code for free or a small fee, though you may need to provide proof of ownership and have the car present. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Online Decoding Services: You can quickly purchase your unlock code by submitting your serial number to trusted services like Online Radio Codes or Radio Code Service. [1]

3. Entering the Code into the RNS 310
Once you receive the 4-digit PIN: [1, 2]
  1. Turn on the radio. The display should show "1000" or four empty dashes.
  2. Use the right-hand rotary dial (or the corresponding number buttons on the head unit) to select the first digit of your code.
  3. Click or press the dial to confirm and move to the next digit.
  4. Repeat this for all four numbers.
  5. Press and hold the "OK" button (or select it on the touch screen) to confirm and unlock the system. [1, 2]

I visited VINDIS VW when passing on a Sunday , they did it for free. Great service.

Update: Thanks everyone for the advice. I checked a few of the options mentioned here and compared a couple of online services. In the end I used https://radiocodepro.com/ because it was a bit cheaper than the others I found. The code worked perfectly and my radio is unlocked again. Really appreciate everyone taking the time to help! Hopefully this update is useful for anyone who finds this thread later.

Good job it worked.
Now write the code down somewhere and keep it with you, might you need it once more.
