Pop top Sven!!!!

Yeah, as the Aussies say: if you want to get into the bush, buy a Land Rover. If you want to make sure you also get out of it again, buy a Land Cruiser
I’m not doing the Landrover vs Toyota debate on here as well

I had a Defender for years and it was slow, uncomfortable and unreliable but I loved it, like a flighty girlfriend they get under your skin!

I ran a Freelander 2 as a family car, put 230,000 miles on it including a fair bit of towing and it never missed a beat. Apart from tyres, brakes and an intercooler hose I never spent any money on it. Underrated off road too.

That damn Defender will always be my first auto love though…

No worries, that debate would be completely off topic anyway and even though I had a Land Cruiser things broke down as well. The hydraulic suspension gave up shortly after I bought it (second hand, 15 years old, out of the warranty) so I replaced the whole suspension with an Old-Man Emu set as a new hydraulic one would set me back at 11k € (give or take).

Defenders look good. I also like the new Grenadier that has similar looks but BMW tech.

But as said, completely off topic.

That Sven Hedin looks good. But if I wanted to buy one, I would need to sell both my Cali and my Porsche first… and then some…

I should buy in the dead of winter when everyone is desperate for cash for Squishmallows and whatever other Christmas presents the kids are dying for. Rattle around quiet campsites in spring and flog at the first hint of sun in June.

The Cali seasonal arbitrage. Calitrage.

I’m not convinced it’s seasonal, I suspect it’s more to do with the glut of dealer orders when the 6.1 production was ending

I didn’t follow closely, but Breez seemed to shift their allocation fairly quickly.

I suppose that means potentially a supply of used PX.

Who knows?

My guess was/is 6.1 will hold strong as the 7 isn’t exactly a big hit so trade in stock will be low?
What do I know?

Next springs used Cali sales data should prove interesting. The Multivan Cali will be out a year and we'll know if the electrical gremlins have been excised, which could end up being a huge drag on new Cali orders as the word gets out.

The Hymer GC600 2nd hand are dropping seen some for £80-££90k now.
I think these £100k plus vans will start losing a fair bit.
Cali will holdup fine have done for 12yrs I’ve had campers

I think the Merc sprinter wins on outside looks, bit more of a beast, or the iveco.
The Sven does look great, very slick pop top. £8300ish extra so needs to be!
Price list is on camper sales website I see.
Sorry can’t add as signal is crap, need to get on and get that Starlink for the cottage!
Grew old ranting at Openreach, put in Starlink, works a treat. Installed it ourselves, easy, Mrs B can watch Coro when she wants - peace at last, worth every penny.
