Pop top front of tent vertical strip

Has anyone else had someone close the roof without making sure the hard plastic metal strip is pulled back coming down horizontal? Nightmare. I think I managed to make a reasonable repair this afternoon with four tiny nuts and bolts, a cut up credit card and some epoxy glue.
