Our New MY25 Grand California has finally arrived

So VW had lent me the T7 California Ocean for 2 weeks as our Grand Cali hadn’t arrived and I needed it for the Isle of Man TT.

Dropped the T7 off this morning and ours has arrived. Need to swap the wheels to Black Steels and we are collecting next Friday.

Been a long process but we can see the light at the end of tunnel.

Hi will this be based on the latest crafter, with the large screen, electric handbrake etc? If so do you know if the digital cockpit is standard now?

Yes the new GC’s are based on the facelift crafter with digital cockpit etc.

LV are saying they can’t insure because the 25 model isn’t in there database?? What are you with?

Hi,

The steels are being painted black at the dealer and kept for the time being. new wheels and tyres are being fitted next week.

Can I ask please - what's the size of the infotainment screen? 12" ?

Some differences i see that didn't know about - the front bumper - lower part near the radar - that is now filled in.
Also vents in the middle walkway by where the flooring in the back starts.

Will be interesting to see if my MAN TGE replacement in a few weeks will have the same?

We placed our order 1st June 2024 and so happened to be we got the series 2 instead of series 1.

Gosh. I’m hoping your long lead time was due to the crossover of versions. We’ve been quoted 4 to 6 months.

We collect it friday. We just got to look at it last Saturday as it had arrived. Just ask for an update when the order is accepted by VW Germany. The change in model was definitely the reason for the longer than usual lead times.

Ordering ours from Liverpool Van Centre, we didn’t get a massive discount on the van + options, but if you compare finance deals with VWFS to the likes of Black Horse (if opting for another van such as a Swift Carrera) then the discount is signicant!

I can believe that. As much as alternatives from Westphalia and Hymer are appealing, as a Cali owner there’s something reassuring in staying with the VW brand for the complete van.
