This is a pain - I was insured by LV but they wont' insure me any more - and trying to get online quotes is basically impossible because i put in my registration and nothing recognises it as valid.

If I go to "pick my vehicle" then all the databases go VW / California / 2010 + - almost as though a pre-2010 california doesn't exist at all according to some , presumably standard industry database that everyone uses.

Has anyone found a way around this?

Thanks

Steve

Ripe insurance covered me this year (may) wasn’t any problem at all insuring my 2007 California.
Also saved quite a bit of money as well, was using comfort since 2013 but this years premium from them was quite expensive so shopped about and went with Ripe. They also use Aviva as their insurance underwriter same as comfort.

When you say ‘nothing recognises it as valid’ that suggests it is not matching to DVLA records. Have you checked say looking up your MOT history to see if it is correctly reported by DVLA.

I had this happen this morning. Trying to get quote from Admiral, put my reg no in ( 2019 Ocean) and it doesn’t recognise it. Had to add all the details manually.

Just a thought, but are the two examples of trying to use comparison sites simply blocking the regs of anything that isn't a car?
I know when I have tried to use such comparison sites my reg has been rejected for that reason.
