M6 Toll Road Fee

To be borne in mind regarding French Toll roads, the quality of road, less traffic, fewer lorries especially late saturday afternoons and Sundays, there is no annual road tax in France which offsets the costs. BUT a trip from Calais to Spain can cost around €150 on tolls. Makes driving easier, rather than going on non tolls roads.

Makes French motorways look cheap !
On french Toll roads the California is a Class 1 vehicle so cheaper than next size up such as Fiat Ducato or similar. I had a Ducato before my California and used the Tolls in France a lot. Used the M6 Toll on way up to Scotland and with the more mpg than the Fiat it was still cheaper than taking the Ducato and not the M6 Toll, if that makes sense

Pick your time and going north i go m40 to m5 route to m6 seems best.last few times its not been too bad but do not go during rush,
would not use pirate ally unless i knew there was a closure!
THIS. Avoid M6 North from the M40 at all costs if not using the toll road..Endless roadworks and those horrible seams in the concrete / tarmac that make an awful noise and jolt even at 65 mph.

We usually go WEST to M5, then NORTH to M6, if the sat nav doesn't have much time difference.

I also recommend the Norton Canes services - exceptional quality and cleanliness on our last visit.

Agree..., only once caught traffic due to a police car accident and probably navigated this route 20x +....... over the last 15years or so..... best kept secret.....

Used the M6 toll once

Costs me nothing, wife has high rate PIP so bridges, tunnels and tolls all free. We found this out by accident, not advertised. If anyone has blue badge, check your rate, you could be missing out.

M6 toll worth every penny. I drive to the Scottish highlands fsirly regularly and it’s like 20 minutes of driving on the continent. Have done overnight stay in the services car park before too. Not. Cheap but felt safe.

So PIP is a benefit to cope with the additional costs of living with a disability.
This is a part explanation of why the Government's Disability Benefits costs are so high.
Why is the M6 Toll considered an additional cost to a Disabled person and not to a tax paying working person?

My sister in law gets a PIP. She’s severely overweight and smokes about 20 a day. She’s already had 1 heart attack at 66. She has bad knees but won’t have any treatment on them, as she will then lose her PIP. The PIP pays for her cigarettes!

I live in Cheshire. Paid once going southbound, total rip off.
Swerve it all together. I would come up the M40 and then take M42 towards M5 and join the M6 just north of Birmingham.
Yep. Used to commute weekly between Chester and Stratford-upon-Avon. Always quicker to stay on the M5 to J8 on the M6

M6 toll is rarely recommended on maps when I drive that way as considerably faster. Many in receipt of PIP are hard working tax payers btw.

And your point is?
Using the M6 Toll is NOT and additional cost to a Disabled person in receipt of PIP compared to a Non- Recipient . It is an additional cost to anyone who chooses to travel on the M6 Toll.
