I will be changing my Beach Leisure battery next week. I have solar panels charging it, and the charger has been showing some very peculiar readings. Is there anything I need to be aware of such as connecting the negative to ground?

We just connected ours direct to battery, worked fine with no issues.

You could also (instead) connect negative to one of the seat studs using a ring connection, before you bolt the seat back in.

Battery changed with solar negative connected to earth via a seat stud as suggested.

Solar charger still coming up with peculiar readings, specifically a warning symbol and 90°C battery temperature. I unplugged the temperature sensor and everything returned to normal.

I’m currently testing the diesel heater which hadn’t been working since last October, and all is working as it should be. Presumably the fault with the diesel heater - and our camping fridge - can be explained by low voltage from the knackered leisure battery.
