Kitchen table issue

The screws that connect the kitchen table to the two sliding flanges have come loose - probably as a result of driving on very bumpy Spanish roads for the past 4 months - everything was rattling! I have put it all back together - for each flange there are three components - a silver flat top female threaded fitting at the top, and equivalent male threaded one for the bottom, which has an Allen key slot, and a fairly large black wheel / washer that goes in between the bottom fitting and the table, and acts as a wheel against the kitchen unit itself. I am not home yet and don’t have the right Allen key with me, but have managed to put it together to finger tightness, but every time I slide the table out and put it back, it comes undone again. Looks to be a bit of a design flaw - since the black bit goes round and round, it tends to undo the screws!

Is there a bit missing here? Is there meant to be another washer to prevent this, or would tightening up properly with an Allen key do the job?

Back home now. I tightened with an Allen key, but am still struggling to find the right tightness. Too tight and the table judders horribly when stowing - too loose and it simply comes undone again. Might have to try loctite...

Unless anyone has a better suggestion???

The juddering might be dirt on the rail. Ours rattles if it’s not stowed properly sometimes, so we jam a sparkling wine cork at the bottom. Might be a different issue but thought I’d share just in case

had same issue once.
Tightened with a 3mm allen key, which has remained in the kitchen drawer ever since and has never been needed again..
keep rail clean and lubricate with dry lubricant.

The other thing worth checking, if you have an older van, is the condition of the rubber O-ring on each fixing. I have replaced mine as the originals were cracked, I found a 25mm OD x 19mm ID x 3mm width O-ring did the job.

Tighten, clean rail and spray black washer/ wheel with silicone spray. If that fails then use Loctite, but the semi- permanent one. BLUE type.

THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE, I THINK YOU'RE MISSING THE PART THAT IS SECOND FROM THE LEFT.

That does make sense - I thought there might be something missing, but both ends, front and back, have separately come undone, and I have not found these parts.

I see you have a T6 - can someone with a T6.1 confirm that it is the same on my model, as the washer looks to be a little different in your picture?

Assuming I do need them, what is the material and the dimensions, so that I can try to source replacements?

Hi, sorry yes we have many T6.1's too but none on site at the moment, we use TPS for parts as we are trade but you could get your parts from a vw van centre or even campervantastic who are also really good for things like this.

The metal spacer is 8mm OD, 6mm ID and 11.3mm long

The same thing happened to me — the screws came out, and I couldn’t find some of the parts because they rolled under a drawer. In the end, I just took it back to the dealer and they repaired it under warranty.
