Isle of Man TT

We'd like to take the van to the Isle of Man to watch the TT in late May.
Does anyone have any advice on when and where to watch it? There are lots of practice days plus the racing itself.
I'm aware it's going to be pretty busy and we haven't booked the ferry yet, so that might rule it out.
My uncle (who was a Manxman) raced in the Clubman's Lightweight class in 1949, but unfortunately he died a few years ago so I can't ask him.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

I lived on the island for 11 years, you have zero chance of getting a ferry booking for this year. It sells out a year in advance.

I also lived on the IoM for 7 years in the early 2000’s. As previously stated you stand no chance this year for the TT but later in the year is the Classic TT which is a lovely event and would be a good introduction to the beautiful Isle of Man.

Thanks - that sounds a good bet, I'll have a look. We had a good trip to the Isle of Man a few years ago & I'm keen to go back - lots of good walking there.
