Islay Whisky Festival 2026 -Tips / Recommendations

Hi all,

I have been trying to look into booking a long weekend at the 2026 Islay Whisky Festival.

Has anyone attended and do you have any tips / recommendations?

Main issue that concerns me is getting the Ferry booked with the Cali. Can anyone advise roughly when tickets become available to book for the ferry?

I spoke with the Port Mor campsite and it looks like you need to book a year in advance for the hook up spaces but the person I spoke to said they have loads of available (non electric) spaces. That looks to be the only site on the island?

What have you done for travelling around the island during the festival as driving won’t be an option for obvious reasons

I have stayed at Port Mor, good little site by the sea and you can walk to the first distillery, if you have a bike then you can ride to all the distilleries. Book the ferry and site as soon as you can because the festival is very popular.
