Hi, after a bit of a “life event” im looking at getting away from the Scottish/british winter for a couple of months. Im thinking ferry over to Calais, then head round the west coast, visiting La Rochelle as I was there when my kids were very young and then continuing on into Spain.

Looking for advice on how the weather is (Weather over next 10 days looks perfect but wont be leaving for about 2 weeks), campsites open etc.

Edit: Should add im planning on being away for anything up to 3 months, would probably come back via Bilbao or Santander.

Thanks

Sounds nice! As you’ve already found, a lot of the sites are shut or shutting up but I think the municipal ones are a bit more flexible.
Can’t add much really but look forward to hearing more about it as I’d love to do this in a few years once the kids are grown up!

Might be a few days of nice weather left down there, if not you’ll have to head Malaga way.
Some campsites will be starting to close up for the season in France.

I recommend you download this app Camping Car Park you can book online and reserve a spot or see how many spaces are left in ‘real time’.
If you decide to float down the coast, you may know there are some amazing beaches and bike routes all along the way.
