Heater output temp?

Ok so here’s a comparison.

Since buying the 6.1 I’ve been decidedly underwhelmed by the heater output.

Having been spoilt by owning a T4 Cali I’m used to a slightly higher baseline.

Here’s a couple of output measuments, both units set to max and left to run for 10mins.
First one is my T4.






And here’s the 6.1


Slightly hard to read but it’s 88,4

Quite a difference considering the heater units, despite being 20yrs different in age, are essentially identical.

Well done VW.

Actually the best the T4 produced was 114.8

Many improvements have been made to the newer iterations of the Cali, but it is sad when you notice certain things that are not as good. There are surprisingly many too!

The difference could be accounted by the fact that the T5/6/6.1 have a longer heat output duct compared with the T4?

Does the new one move a larger amount of cubic metres of hot air per hour? This might also account for the difference
