Grand Cali, no spare wheel?

Look under the drivers footwell you will see a removable panel that’s where the jack will be if you have one.

Thank you @Jester

Took us a minute to find....the previous owner had installed rubberized mats- so this was not visible. Also we initially checked under the driver's side....but then I remembered that the UK drives on the other side....so we found on the passenger side!
Cheers!

The spare is 16 inch with a larger profile tyre ,think it's 65.
The Man spare mechanism will do but you need the earth wire which has the securing bolt for the wheel attached to it..
Ps there are two types of drive sockets for the winch .
They are five sided ,the newer ones have a larger drive.
Vw do an adapter for the smaller one £17

Thank you for reply
Did you have to source the “earth wire” separately too?
Why is it an earth wire ? It not electrical

It’s not an earth wire, it’s a security cable that stops the spare bouncing down the road if the winch fails. It’s bolted to the wheel at one end and the van at the other.

Makes more sense now ,don't know how I came to think it was a bonding cable.

To be fair it does look exactly like a battery earth lead.

Our local New Zealand VW dealer has only just got in a Grand California 600 as a demonstrator. So I went and had a look. I was pretty surprised to find that although all the NZ spec ones are 4Motion, there is no spare wheel in standard specs,or even options! Do other countries/markets have a spare wheel? Seems like an important item to have.
Hi Hugo, We are also in NZ with a 680. Came with no spare also but I ordered a kit and fitted a 16" Crafter wheel and suitable tyre. Easy to get second hand. An alloy won't fit so don't try for a match. Cheers.
