Grand Cali 600 sliding door - power latch?

Does the Grand Cali (MY2025) have a power latch that closes the door tightly? I don’t mean a full-on electric powered motor that slides the door across automatically, but a latch that pulls it in tight after you’ve manually closed it.

My old T5.1 Cali SE had one - you slid the door over manually and then the power latch ensured it closed up tightly (making that very distinctive noise).

I’ve just collected a Grand Cali and find that I have to really firmly close the door as there’s no mechanism active that pulls it in. It’s almost impossible to know when closing from inside if it’s properly shut.

Thanks

Nothing as standard. There is an aftermarket solution I’ve seen some folks fit and mention on the UK Facebook group. I’ll try find a link for you. It’s difficult to shut partly because of the seal with all doors and windows closed. If you crack open the drivers door a bit then close the sliding door it’s much easier and needs less effort.

Thanks again because the “open the driver door” tip works perfectly!

on our GC600 the sliding door was not easy to fully shut, requreing a good slam to do so. After a few thousand miles, and especially a bit of off road shaking from some gravel roads, i eventually re-adjusted all the door stops and it's a lot better now.. It's a fine line between reliably getting the second stage latch to grab and lock, and having the door vibrate because it's too loose against the body. It's a big door and i think things move as the van ages, so some adjustment may help.

Start by winding in the rubber corner stops a turn and see how you get on. With the door fully shut, try and press the corners of the door inwards, see if any corner can still move in, if so, wind that particular corner stop out a bit!
