Ghost 2 or Pro?

Am just looking into a Ghost (not sure which other ones are good to consider?), maybe 2 or Pro. Some of the installers sell / add a S5 or 7 tracker in as well, but wondering if that's overkill as surely if the Ghost is doing its job, the van won't be going anywhere! Also re the Ghost, is it worth having the fob version as if someone does have your keys (and the fob is attached, which is how you'd surely carry it), it will defeat the object, or am I missing something?

Would appreciate any input!

Most Ghost fitters will recommend not having the fob at all as it has too long a range & can basically make the thing self defeating.

I initially had a Ghost on my 6.1 but removed it & replaced with a MetaTrak S5 deadlock integrated with the OEM alarm/immobiliser as hated pitting the ‘PIN’ in to drive every ign cycle. DavTec in Chesterfield fitted the MetaTrak for me.

Yes the MetaTrak has a fob, but it has V short range (has to be within a metre or 2 of the dash to be recognised) & has geofence / full immobiliser lockout/ OBD blocking as well as all the tracking, journey info etc.

Ok it has a subscription charge but I’d rather pay this than prat about keying in the Ghost pin & also some insurers also don’t recognise the Ghost at all whereas a Cat5 tracker always is

P.S. Ghosts are very installer sensitive to being found & defeated.

The one that was fitted to mine by a ‘uk nationwide’ installation company was not fitted well, & their CS was poor when I asked them to remove it at my cost, which they didn’t.

In the end I found it myself & removed it in less that 20mins with only my kit car building/DIY autoelectrical skills

I'd recommend the Ghost, it takes 2 secs to punch the pin, or you can have it with proximity to your phone, but IMHO that makes it self defeating if they have the keys from your house. Needs to be well installed, I used a local guy who was excellent.
