GC600 - Mattress

Hello,

New owners of a 2021 GC600. We camped last weekend and found the stock bed not the most comfortable, length/width is fine but shoulder/back support wasn’t great for us.

Looking online I see there are options to change the mattress completely or add a mattress topper.

We are both side sleepers and before we make a purchase would love to hear real world opinions from owners that have made any changes to improve sleep comfort especially if also side sleepers…

I am a side sleeper and also found the standard mattress uncomfortable. We got a "Panda Memory Foam 5cm Mattress Topper -Double" and put it on top which made a big difference. It's almost the right size - at some point I might try to cut some of the corners off so it fits the bed shape better.

Duvaley do specific topper for the GC600 & 680 in varying thicknesses. Not perfect, but much better than just using the standard mattress.

We have the Duvalay 2.5cm in our 680 and a definite improvement. We also now have the Duvalay sleeping bags which include a thin topper to make it even batter.

We bought the Dorma Tencel blend mattress topper from Dunelm, its a really thick memory foam with a quilted top layer, very luxurious and very comfortable. A but expensive but worth it. Quite heavy to lift in, not an exact fit but can fold over corners or you could probably cut it to fit exactly. It’s a game changer.
