Faulty Warranty Repair and Leaking Roof

I had the standard corrosion warranty work carried out several years ago. This year the plastic cap came unstuck and water has started to ingress. VW accepted that they needed to fix this. The repair shop, Claridges in Southport, stated that VW supplier the wrong glue. My van was booked in for corrective repairs in October this year after a 7 month wait. I have been told the necessary part, presumably the glue, cannot be supplied until February 2026. Meanwhile, my roof continues to leak. Is anyone else having this problem?

Our old 2012 van was on the famous waiting list for 4 years after the dealer advised us of a recall. “Yes, the van will be collected on a low loader, courtesy van provided, and then dropped back tonight you after works have been completed”

Heard nothing from the dealer despite chasing on an 6 monthly basis and getting the reply “sure, will chase and get back to you”…got nothing back every time!..

Have since sold the van, but at least was able to give the new owner ‘peace of mind’ by correctly informing them that it was on the VW waiting list for warranty work, so SMG Cowfold will contact you in the future regarding the repair.

…basis above wouldn’t hold out much hope of VW providing a repair. Might be better off taking it to a repair shop that specialises in alu spraying - needs a dedicated booth to steel spraying to avoid contamination otherwise can result in galvanic corrosion (again!)
