Elevating roof problem. Club virgin needing help!

Hi all. I know this has bewn discussed previously but I have the problem of the roof rising a bit then stopping. I've got to the point where I can see the reservoir and there seems to be a fair bit of fluid in there, but can't quite see if there is enough. This is a stupid question, but where do you put the fluid in to top it up? There appears to be 2 screws on the top of the pump 'box' and I don't want to be undoing the wrong thing and spraying oil everywhere.
We live in the Charente Maritime in France and finding someone here to take a look is a nightmare.
Even the VW dealers won't deal with it!
Any help would be very gratefully received.

For clarity, my electric roof rises, has an intermediate stop then rises to the full height. I get a message at the midpoint asking if there is overhead clearance. I assume you realise this happens and the roof is not progressing to fully open?
What is the year of manufacture of your van and which model?
I may not be able to help but it will inform those that can.
