Diesel Heater has something changed?

Hi all,

When I first got my 2020 Ocean, I could have sworn that if I used heat immediately (via the fob) to pre-warm the van it would stop heating once I drove away. I‘m sure there were videos on this topic.

However today I pre-warmed the van to take my doggo on a trip (and didn’t want his crate to be cold - yes I over pander to him). 2 miles into my journey and the diesel heater was still on. I’m just wondering if there was a software update and something has changed? I know the T6’s enabled you to drive with the heater on.

Anyway we were very toasty

Diesel heater always stayed on for me when driving (T5.1)

Mine stays on when driving (2022 6.1). If not turned off manually it eventually does it itself after 20-30 minutes or so

Thank I’ll keep it on for longer and see if it goes off

My T5.1 would stay on until manually switched off
2019 T6.1 switched off as soon as van moved
MY 2023 T6.1 the same, can’t drive with it on.
Also noted if heater is on & I unlock van & relock it with remote when I open it again the heater is off.

I would like it to stay on until the main heater is up to temperature.

My MY 2022: heater stays on for "some period" and I haven't worked out the logic.

Just to say when it's on I definitely want the heat and it's switched itself off when the engine is providing the heat. IE it seems to do the right thing.

Let us know if you work out the logic.

T5.1 was perfect, fire it remotely, get into warm van, set main heater to recirculate & leave it like that until the engine was warm. Then turn off the parking heater & turn off recirculate.
Seamless warm air.

The heat continuously function stayed on whilst driving, on our MY22 6.1 Ocean last week. So it wasn’t the heat immediately function, but we weren’t expecting the heater to stay on after leaving our camping spot. We haven’t tried heat immediately and then driving, but I will give it a go and report back soon.

Okay - I did a couple of tests. Firstly, I started Heat Immediately via the fob, waited for the heater to run, and then drove. The heater stayed on whilst driving, for 20 minutes, which was the set run time, then turned itself off. The second test repeated the first, but I stopped the van after 10 minutes, locked up, and went to a shop for 5 minutes. The heater was running. Returning to and opening the van, the heater was still running, so the run time at that point was 15 minutes. I then drove to a location 30 minutes away, and after 20 minutes of driving the heater turned itself off.

So it seems that the run time resets by restarting the van. Otherwise, the heater will continue to run when driving, for the duration set (20 minutes to 120 minutes).

Heat continuously started from inside vehicle stops when driving away in my ocean my2022. i cannot start continuously heating while driving.
