Hello everyone. We have just bought a used Cali Beach from Breeze VW in Poole. We are in Scotland, and trying to figure out the best way to get it. Ideally we would fly down, do a handover, drive back after a few days in the van to make sure all ok. However that's proving difficult to organise for a variety of reasons I won't go into - dog cover, aging parents, work commitments to name a few! Does anyone have experience of having their new purchase delivered to them rather than collecting, and any major concerns / tips about doing so? Haven't spoken to them re cost yet but likely cheaper than flights, hotel the night before, dog cover added up! Thanks so much.

I was in a similar situation a few weeks back. I live in Dundee and I was looking to purchase from the VW van centre at Liverpool, they delivered it using a delivery driver.
I would ask Breeze and negotiate.

Thank you, and congrats on your new van! Did you just do a full inspection on arrival? I've never had a vehicle delivered before so not sure how it all works.

I part ex a t6.1 for a t7
Videos & photos were sent of both vans and obviously a certain amount of trust by both parties.
A bank transfer was done for the balance.
Liverpool van centre used a professional delivery driver.
Hope that helps.

For me , if it’s a second hand vehicle, I would be happy to have it delivered to me. The drivers they use are generally pretty reliable, though you never know .
If it’s a brand new vehicle, then I’ll travel to collect ( have been fortunate to do this a few times now).
2 reasons , 1 is I want to be the first to drive it , and 2, I firmly believe how it is treated in first couple of thousand miles has a bearing on how reliable it is going to be . I know running in isn’t as critical as it used to be , but I’ll watch the revs over the run in period.
