Cambelt and waterpump replacement.

After having our van for 11 years and not replacing the cambelt and waterpump since 2019 I thought it was time to get it replaced even though VW have changed their criteria from 4 years to mileage. I phoned around and all the Quotes came back at around £564-£748 apart from one which quoted £415 inc vat. This included a full INA Bearings kit, Waterpump, aux belt and timing belt. Picked the van up yesterday and they had done a brilliant job. I asked them to keep all the old parts so I could inspect them and there was absolutely no wear whatsoever with the old parts even though it’s been 7 years but only 14000 miles since the last replacement.
Sinclairs wanted £711.

The garage that did the replacement was RevsMotors in Capel Hendre Near Ammanford, South Wales.
I can highly recommend them.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a full INA bearings kit, please?

When they change the Cambelt and water pump all the bearings need to be changed together with the tensioner. INA is just the name of the company that manufactures the bearings.
Changing the Cambelt has been a bit of a contentious matter with VW and also a real money spinner but they had to come inline with the rest of Europe which DIDNT have a time limit just a mileage limit. Like I said in my post the parts that were taken off the vehicle were like new after 7 years, but a good selling point when you pass the vehicle on.
