Popped down to Breeze (Poole). Wet all the 2.5 hours drive down there. Parking was tight when I arrived, so folded the mirrors in, but for the first time, the drivers side folding didn’t work. Ah well, another extra bill I thought.
It was booked in for their 34 point visual health check, and some pre season piece of mind; roof drains ok? Window drains ok? Aux heater ok ? Pop up roof all ok? (We tend not to use it) starter battery ok, leiusure batteries ok? Etc etc. might seem overkill to some but did the same this time last year before the extended warranty was due to run out, and as I suspected there were issues with the infotainment that they found when they did the same checks last year, which got replaced under the warranty. They quoted me £168 inc VAT which was the same as last year.
I also asked them to clean and lubricate the runner / seals on the sliding windows.
Couple of hours later all done and given a bill for £168.
I asked if the sliding windows had been done (as that was on top of what I originally asked for / what they had quoted for) and the answer was yes ( and you can see when you look at them as well)
Drivers side DRL never worked ( during my 2.5 year ownership) but they had without me asking sorted that out and there was no charge.
I paid the £168. Got into the Cali and ready to go, and found they had sorted the drivers mirror folding as well (without any additional charge)
Another wet journey back to Bristol, but happy with what they had checked / done especially without charging me anymore for it :)
Shame they are so far away and workshop not open on a Saturday otherwise the service / MOT would be done there as well. :)

It felt like Old School local garage levels of service, but from a Main Dealer!

That is very rare service indeed and well worth the 2.5 hrs drive imho, I wouldn't think twice for the mot either since your getting great service, thanks for sharing such a positive experience.

@colintfcolintf I have been travelling from Bristol to Breeze Poole for my servicing and MoT for the past seven years. When I book my service and MoT, I also make sure that I book a courtesy vehicle. The reason that I do this is that if there are any problems, I can always get back to Bristol if it can't be fixed the same day. In August of 2025 I had a new heater box and motor fitted, but after a couple of months a trim surrounding the DSG gear leaver became loose. On my last service in January I reported the problem when I arrived at the dealership, saying that the trim couldn't of been fitted properly when the dash was put back together. When my van was ready and I was given the bill, there was a charge for fixing the trim, the cause of loose trim was a broken clip. When I explained to the second service advisor of the day why it was loose, he reprinted the invoice with the labour for fixing the trim removed. I make a day of it in Poole, and stay overnight at the Premier Inn Poole North, it's not too expensive in January, and return to Bristol Saturday morning.

Out of curiosity how much is a service and MOT at Breeze?

I'm on a service plan for two years, but if you look on the VWFS website and put your registration in, it will show you the cost per month. For my vehicle I'm paying £24.75 a month for two years for basically two oil services and a pollen filter, as I can easily change the air and fuel filter myself. Interestedly, when I looked on the VWFS, the price for these two services is now about a pound cheaper per month and now includes 2 MoT's which it didn't have when I took out the plan.
