I am looking to get a Bluetti Charger 1 Alternator Charger to charge a Bluetti power station. I understand I can connect the input to the alternator charger to the van starter battery at the isolation relay under the front passenger seat to save entering the engine compartment. I would like to have the charger and power station at the rear of the vehicle behind the rear passenger bench (possibly in the rear cupboard). What is the best way to route the substantial cable from under the front passenger seat to the van rear (6.1 Ocean)? Is there any route available under the kitchen?

This is what I did

Thanks but the bit I need advice on is how to get to the rear battery cabinet for the input to the Charger 1 - I assume to the rear battery cabinet from under the front passenger seat connection. How did you route the input cable?

You don’t need to go near the front of the Cali. Everything I done is in the rear cupboard (trip) and battery under wardrobe.

What did you connect the input of the alternator charger to? I thought it had to be connected to the starter battery (hence connection to the isolation relay under the front passenger seat), not a leisure battery.

Have sent you a PM.

I routed my cables from the split charger .I had to remove the front passenger seat and used rods to pull cables to kitchen cabinet .Then run them along back of kitchen and secured them to other cables running same route.I installed charger one above the rear leisure battery with strong velcro.Made a cover with ply and rapped with pine effect to blend with cabinets. Fitted a plastic gas vent for good air ventilation and plugged cables in .I also installed a 230volt socket which I mounted near van inverter. Hope this helps .Not easy but possible.

I connected mine to isolation relay and connected with a 50 amp fuse .Not had any issue did temp readings etc no issues 8 months in.

Is there any issue connecting the charger at the rear leisure battery and chassis ground?

I'm not 100% .But beleive it's better going off split charge relay.I 2as going that direction as the cable isn't long enough to go from the engine battery but is perfect into rear leisure battery from split charge relay .Give it a go it's not that difficult .Hope pictures help any questions give me a message.Make sure to fuse the relay side and use breaker in leisure battery area.

I also have 200 watts off solar so run two independent systems and can charge of bluetti leisure batts if needed.

Thanks for this. I also have solar but plan on keeping the solar and charger 1 separate, although both can charge the Bluetti. A couple of questions:

1. Have you any images / description of how you routed the cables from the front passenger seat into the rear of the kitchen?
2. Do you leave the charger 1 switched on all the time (at the breaker)?

Thanks again!

No pictures .Sorry was dark and working on my drive.
I removed seat disconnected all batteries. Removed seat metal base .
Then lifted the carpet best I could make sure you don't use the leisure battery negative as it won't work well with control panel I bolted to metal base stud.Check continuity first as don't want to do job twice.
I then pushed cables and protective sheathe through to kitchen unit I did remove plastic trim fro back off seats also.
Once in kitchen job is straight forward.
And I never disconnect breaker .
Use app and turn to dc on in app when set off.
So don't have to go in boot to power ac180p on.Works fantastic .very rare we use gas now and lasts about 3 1/2 days if static charges in 2 1/2 hours if almost flat .But never does go flat as two days is max I tend to stop in a place.Hope this helps.
