Bike Racks Vw vs Wanderway

Hi , I am chomping at the bit to get myself a bike rack for my T6 California beach - I had a VW bike rack on my older T5 Caravelle and it was great and used a lot


I am drawn to the Thule Wanderway for 4 bikes - has anyone got any views vs the VW rack.. the rails aren't as wide as the wheel clip slide up to the wheels - but then i wonder if they are wide enough for my 29r

The wanderway also seems to cram 4 rails very close..

I have a tow bar , I will be towing a caravan too - bikes will be in the van whilst towing and when we get to where we are going I can use the tailgate rack to transport around to different MTB trails

My 2.4x29 tyres fit perfectly in the slots and the feet. Works perfectly for my gravel bike (40mm) too.

I’ve had three DH rigs (all mullets) on my Wanderway without issues.
I did crack one of the plastic socket T piece thingies which Thule replaced under warranty.

Other issue is the longest stay arm is difficult to clamp tight when not in use. When the tail gate is opened it can fall down and rest against the screen and subsequently jam the rear wiper.

It’s very light and easy to remove when required.

Loads of them on eBay too. Average price seems around £200.
