I have got a factory-fitted bike rack on my California and everything is fine with it. However, the shape of the top tube on the bike, that runs from the saddle to the handle bars, is wide and flat, not circular at all. So, the frame of the bike sits awkwardly and loosely in the cradle arm even when I ensure they are done up tightly.

Can you get cradle arms that hold a different shape bike frames? Any other suggestions to stop the bike bouncing down the road in the rear-view mirror? Thank you for your help.

Secure the cradle arm to a piece of pole or timber with a hole through that you can zip tie to frame? Obviously would need to ensure not too much play between the two.

Clamp bike by the saddle stem.
