used awning for the first time, can’t seem to look the kegs with tbe plastic locking lever, don’t want to force them they seem flimsy, any clues folks?

push the " metal catch " that the plastic locking lever latches onto in a bit with a screwdriver ... catch my drift ?

you only have to do this once ... they then lock without the worry you will snap the levers off ...

basically you just want to take a bit of tension off of the lock position ...

^ agree , but some of the new t6 legs are impossible to lock without help the first time ...

Also note that the plastic levers don't move all the way up to the vertical to lock them. Don't be surprised if they're still sticking out a bit at an angle once set.

OK I will try easing them in with a screwdriver on first try, thanks all.

I would only add that when you push do it at the bottom end nearest to the metal leg so there is as little leverage on the plastic as possible. It does get easier, but it is worrying the first time, you are frightened it's going to break.

The first time I put mine out I thought I was doing something wrong and that they were going to break. They do seem a little flimsy!

You push the clips up, not down, to lock them in place. The first time we used it, it took us ages to work this out!

Thank goodness for this forum, just trying my awning for the first time on my my new to me 2022 Cali and I was absolutely convinced I was going to break something or the leg mechanism was faulty, didn’t have silicone spray with me so used a drop of olive oil as that’s all I had and it worked. Thanks for the posts helping with this issue.

Just trying our awning for the first time on the drive to save embarrassment and being the source of amusement at the campsite. I can’t get the legs to lock, don’t understand how they work. I’m scared I’ll break them.

Lift the lever, when you feel resistance use the flat of your hand to push the lever up until it is about 10degrees from vertical
The first time, feels like you will break the lever , you won't, the spring plate will allow the lever to work as designed (on a cam) if you want, spray some silicone etc in to the area of the lever it will assist.
It feels like Brute force , but it is correct, next time it will be easier

Just push the lever up firmly. If it breaks it will be the first one reported on the Forum. It will get easier once used a few times.
So I held my breath closed my eyes and pushed the little lever up beyond 90° and guess what happened………… nothing other than the leg locking. Phew easy as that what was all the worry about. Thank you.
