Hello Everyone and greetings from N Ireland.
I bought my 2022 red Cali Coast about 6 or 7 weeks ago and had a great run out on Friday after fitting it out with a lot of the stuff recommended on here. I was asked to be the support vehicle for my son and a few others in their 4 Peak Challenge Cycle in aid of the Children's Hospice. This was a ride of about 130 miles taking in Divis Mountain overlooking Belfast, Slieve Gullion in South Armagh, Spelga Mountain in the Mournes Range and Slieve Croob in the Dromara Hills. These guys are as hard as nails and I really was impressed as to how fast they completed these climbs. I took the Cali on the Slieve Gullion Forest Drive which was really steep and narrow, not for the faint hearted! Apart from having to stop once to move a reluctant sheep the Cali did brilliantly although my wife kept her eyes covered for part of the way.
I removed the bed mattress and that shelf thing in the boot and that made room for all the stuff the guys needed to bring and as I'd had a removable towbar fitted (to replace a Fiamma rack) hooked up a 2 bike carrier in case anyone needed recovering which fortunately didn't happen. We supplied a stew lunch at the Visitor Centre at Slieve Gullion and the two burner coped admirably with heating the stew and baguette heated in the Ridge Monkey. I had a wee kettle for hot drinks running off an EcoFlow Delta 2. There was birthday cake for my son's 47th birthday which was that very day.
Only one puncture on a tubeless bike tyre - you wouldn't believe the tech they produced to plug it and then inflated with what looked like a tiny gas canister. Anyway this is getting a bit long and rambling, but in closing I just wanted to say I have had great advice in these forums as to what to kit my van out with, although I'm thinking of changing the Coast name by blanking out the a! No prizes for knowing what a Soigneur is.
