hi i wonder if anyone can give me some advice? we have a vango galley awning (poked version) and a vango kador strip driveway awning kit. i can't for the life of me work out how to get the awning to stay secure onto the van without sliding one way or the other. it's fine if there's no wind but in windy conditions it doesn't stay secure.

i posted about an experience last year in high winds when in the middle of the night the awning completely released itself and ended up lying across the site we were on.

i've taken some photos of either side. the awning seems to be pegged out in a good position but two of the long awning kit plastic figure-of-eights aren't long enough to fit the whole awning rail so i need three. that means they overhang on either end and the awning seems to always want to pull one way or the other. i've heard some people talk about clips but i'm not entirely sure where these clips would go. i bought some screw-in awning rail stoppers but they don't fit in the figure 8 properly and when i did try and squeeze one of them in under a bit of pressure, they just popped out.

do i need to be cutting the plastic figure of eight or from the photo should i be cutting the kador strip more or even cutting the awning kador strip? i'm at a bit of a loss here. does anybody else have this awning and has managed to get a secure fit or is it just that it's not that compatible with a california?

I don't have this awning but have had similar ones.
I found that a guy rope attached to the awning where it meets the rail adaptor, one at front of van, one at rear, did the trick in stopping it from sliding.
If the awning does not have a guy point there, this may be why a clip has been suggested by others (a clip on guy line).

Thanks. In an ideal world (and why I bought the awning rail stoppers, I’d put stopped into the van rail on either end but the strips and awning kadors are all longer than the Cali rail
