I have topped up my adblu regularly on my 2022 t6.1 Ocean. The range seems to be stuck on 19500 miles on the dash level indicator. Should i just keep topping up every so often or run the vehicle to see if it eventually goes down. Does anyone think i may have a problem with the sensor.

When you say that you have been topping it up, have you followed the VW instructions on the procedure and only added the amount shown on the dashboard? If you’ve overfilled you may have messed up the sensor.

I’ve only topped my 2024 t6.1 once when it was down to around 8000 miles…when it was initially full (when new) it only decreased in 500 mile chunks. When I filled it up it went up to 19500 miles and stayed there for more than 500 miles…you don’t say how many miles you’ve done in between the fills nor how many miles it’s been sitting at 19500. If it’s more than 1500-2000 miles then I’d start to become concerned…I’m more sure than you can damage the sensor but no harm in asking your dealer.

Our T6.1 has a much larger range than our T6. I only ever add now when it takes over 10litres I use the volume rather than the range. Last time I added 10litres it gave a range of 15000 miles. After a week or so, 15500, then a couple of weeks after 16000. I know it will be a good 10 months until it will require another 10litres.
Filling is less an issue with a T6.1

Strange. I filled 9 litres into the T6.1 on the weekend and it reads 5500 miles. The adblu amount on the dash was between 8 and 9.75. It will probably right itself once we start driving through Europe this weekend. I have 5000 miles approx since this time last year.

Factors Affecting Range
  • Aggressive Driving: High speeds and heavy acceleration increase consumption.
  • Towing/Heavy Loads: Driving with a heavy load or towing a trailer increases AdBlue consumption.
  • City vs. Highway: City driving with many stops can consume more AdBlue compared to steady highway driving.
