4WDM Pinout & Earth Point – 2016 T6 Ocean 204PS 4Motion

Hi all,

I’m trying to confirm the correct pinout and wiring details for the 4WD module (4WDM) on my 2016 VW T6 California Ocean 204PS 4Motion.

I’ve removed the module and checked voltages at the connector, the results were not as I expected, but the wire colours and pin layout don’t seem to match any of the diagrams I’ve found online so far (possibly they’re for a different model rather than the California).

I’m particularly trying to identify:

• The accurate pinout for the 4WDM connector (power, CAN, earth, etc.)
• The location of the main earth/ground point for the 4WDM loom, as the wiring loom disappears and is tricky to trace
• Ideally a schematic or wiring diagram specific to the California 4Motion showing the 4WDM and its related earth points (e.g. Earth Point 68 or similar)

The module is really expensive, so I’d like to be absolutely sure it’s faulty before replacing it—or accidentally damaging a good one during testing.

If anyone has ElsaWin references, wiring diagrams, or photos/notes from similar work, I’d really appreciate the help.
