2025 Solar options

Sorry if this has been up before, I've been trying to search for info why and if the solar option for the new models was removed?

I am waiting for a quote on a potential trade in for a 2025 4motion which does not have solar.
But, do they still have the cable routing as the earlier models seemed to have to make it easier to retro-fit?

The dealer was not sure why the panel options was removed and I can't find any info about this?
Looking at the website and configuring a new car I cannot find any solar options anywhere.

And yes, eventually I will go for Lithium option (or Ecoflow most likely) for my current or potential next one.

Grok AI suggests the loom is no longer there although it seems to have determined that from chatter on the various forums rather than from VW documentation, so I wouldn't 100% rely on that. It does go on to suggest VW may be bringing a solar solution later this year (not that there is much year left). Only way to tell for sure is to see if you can get an owner of one of the facelift vans to have a peek. Easy in a 600, just pull the ceiling scrim away a bit on the front of the front skylight (its dual-loc velcro attached) and shine a torch towards the 'forehead' where the solar would be - if wiring is there its obvious as its taped to the middle of the 'forehead'.I don't know how easy it is to find it in a 680.

Brochure said solar is returning late 2025 but nothing so far.

I have been trying to establish the same thing for a few months. I collected my 2025 GC 680 in July and to dismay the solar panels were not fitted even though they had been ordered, paid for and confirmed that they had been fitted... I have been in discussion with VW ever since and they have offered to pay for a retrofit, however the retrofit company do not want to start stripping the van and have asked for the wiring diagrams for this vehicle. VW say this is an internal document and they won't provide it. I am hoping to take the van to a different retrofit company in the coming week and see if they can establish if the cables etc are in place. I will let you know the outcome. If you have any advice on what is the best retrofit kit to go for this would be gratefully received.
