I'm selling my solar panel system which we used for 2 years, we never needed a hook-up!
It's a 170w 12V Ecoworthy system secured to aluminium box tube and attached to the roof rails with T bolt fixings - so NO drilling.
It is an easy fit, cables shared entry point with tailgate electrics, controller fitted in wardrobe and cables taken down to rear leisure battery.
