So we picked our new T7 Ocean today. On the 3 hr 90 mile drive home the orange Second battery discharging while driving light came on. Would stay on for around a minute, go off for 10 minutes then back one. Did this all the way home. Second battery had charged to 100% whilst driving but indicated hrs remaining kept changing 1hr/ 3hrs/13hrs/1 hr etc.
Have since read a few similar issue but were mostly a year ago. Are people still having the same issues ?

Had the same issue when I bought my van from Breeze in June. Turned around and went back. Within 30 minutes they had diagnosed a faulty relay. Replaced and no further problems.

This was Breeze as well. Should have gone back but after a 4yr (delayed) train journey and living in Fairford having it own local issues we were keen to get home and hoped the long drive would fully charge and be sorted.

Luckily I got as far as Taunton and decided to return straight away. They offered to book it in at a later date but I wanted it sorted same day. It shouldn’t take them long to fix if it’s the same fault (which it seems like). On a more positive note; great to drive, love the twin doors and camping experience.

Similar issue with our Coast from Manchester VW. Discharging both batteries. We rejected the vehicle and sought refund. Appalling service and refusal to collect vehicle. After legal threats we got our money back. Now proud owner of Ocean from Indian Queens and all is well.

We have a T7 ocean Feb 26. Same issue. Diagnosed as a faulty relay which VW Worcester replaced with no fuss last week and we’ve no issues since.

Just taken back to supplying dealer to try the relay. If a known problem you would think it would be checked. Fingers crossed just a relay and can be on our way.

Just a note for people reading this and other threads as an ex insider to the Warranty business (I used to work for European Warranty for Nissan).

I have said before but all these issues are, unfortunately, part and parcel of a brand new model in year one.

The fail rate of any vehicle is an inverted bell curve, with most issues start of life (engineering and design issues) and end of life (parts wearing out issues). The unfortunate T7 owners are feeling this now.

They are all warrantable and should all be fixed without fuss by the dealers - not made easy in this case by diminishing expert sites.

Y2 owners (I never buy a brand new Y1 car for this reason) will reap the benefits of this as lots of design and parts upgrades are introduced into production based on warranty claim frequency.

Hi all, we bought our T7 ocean last December. Didn't use it to camp until April this year when we discovered hook up wasn't working. Couldn't get a VW garage to check it out until end of August where it has since been in out to replace a discharged leisure battery and habitation panel. This has still not resolved the ongoing issues and they have now escalated the job to the VW technical section for guidance. Still under warranty and we have written to VW Liverpool to alert them that we will be looking a full refund if the problems are not fixed this week.

6 hr round trip back to dealer for the relay to be changed. Seemed to have worked as no warning lights on way home. However within an hour of arriving home control panel shows leisure battery at 100% / 3hrs. Could the leisure battery been damaged by the faulty relay ?

They've been out 2 years now though, just to be pedantic, sorry.
