Similar experience a bit further north of you at Siljan lake today.

I guess you got hit by the high winds too. Thought we were sleeping on a boat the entire night, rocking back and forth with water-spray from the waves hitting the rocks below. That's some good 15 meters straight up and another 10m to the van. Went out in the morning to brush my teeth and ended up with a free shower.

The first photo below is the view from the van. The second photo, taken 2 minutes later, shows the reverse perspective (including the van)

This particular location was a lake near Falun, Sweden.

We have travelled extensively, but not so much in Scandinavia. Travel in Norway seems to be popular on this forum, and we have another trip planned for Norway too, but as we come to the last week of our Sweden / Finland loop, we can heartily recommend both. It has been so easy to find these overnight stops that some may have noticed I keep uploading. I could have uploaded so many more, but will stop now - promise!

If you seek space, quiet and immersion in nature, Sweden and Finland have plenty to offer. There’s interesting cultural differences to experience, a rich history and fascinating geography. Above all, we’ve felt a real sense of freedom here. No, we don’t work for the tourist board.

Another year, another tour around the Alps reconfirming that a AWD camper with such good heating has to be one of the best inventions ever!View attachment 152489View attachment 152490View attachment 152491View attachment 152492View attachment 152493View attachment 152494View attachment 152495View attachment 152496
That’s what I’m talking about!
There’s more than a few months of calendar worthy photos there! Indeed, you’d think that admin would make a coin and use the photos from this thread to make a calendar each year? @calikev

LOVE in the window, nice. Very much like the images too, had a quick glance at your old posts, great photographs there too. Especially the one in the winter setting. I hope you printed that one and hung it on a wall.

Thank you. You’re right I really should get a couple printed. Got snowed in last year for several days. Did panic thinking I might have to abandon the van until spring! IMG_6707.jpeg
